Hey there.

Total Transformation

February 15 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together.
If you’re launching a new Group, trust and friendship take time to build. Take turns each week having someone share a bit of their story.

Read Together: Galatians 1:11-24 CSB

Paul writes to the churches in Galatia and points to his own life as evidence that no one is too far gone to be transformed by an encounter with Jesus. Once a persecutor of the church, he was radically transformed by the grace of God. His story proves that the Gospel is not human in origin and that it has the power to completely change a life.

Paul was once a zealous Pharisee and violent persecutor of Christians. By every human metric, he was the least likely candidate to become a missionary for Jesus. Yet through an encounter with Christ, his life was radically changed. His story reminds us that the hardest heart is not beyond God’s reach. We also see that through the power of testimony, Paul’s transformation caused others to worship God. His story pointed beyond himself to the power of Christ.

The One Question:
If you only have time for one question, ask this one.

Do you believe the Gospel can truly change someone’s life—right now? Said another way: Who have you quietly decided is too far gone? Or where have you believed that you are beyond transformation?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your Group or for personal reflection.

  1. Paul had a dramatic past as a persecutor of Christians. How does his testimony challenge the way you think about “impossible” people in your life?
  2. Paul says God “set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace.” (Psalm 139) How does understanding God’s sovereignty in your story reshape the way you view your past — even the broken parts?
  3. How have you seen God use someone’s testimony to strengthen your faith?
  4. Is there an area of your life where you’ve subtly believed a “Jesus + effort” message instead of resting in grace? Where are you currently tempted to believe that change has to happen through your own effort instead of through surrender to the Spirit?
  5. Who is one person you need to start praying for again, believing that God can transform their heart?

Pray Together:

  • Thank God that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
  • Confess any ways you’ve underestimated God’s power to change a life.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your faith in the transforming power of the Gospel & pray boldly for specific people who seem far from God.
  • Thank God that your testimony—no matter how dramatic or quiet—can bring Him glory.

Next Steps:

  • Spend time this week reading Galatians 1 slowly and prayerfully, asking God to highlight truth.
  • Identify the "impossible person". Write down the name of someone you’ve quietly assumed won’t change. Commit to praying for them daily for the next 30 days.
  • Commit to regular time in Scripture as a way to strengthen discernment and deepen trust in the true Gospel.
  • Take time to revisit your testimony, what God has saved you from and all He has done for you. Be encouraged, where has he changed you? How can your testimony point others towards Jesus and His goodness?
  • Encourage someone in your Group this week by reminding them that Jesus is enough.
