Hey there.

GOD REALLY LOVES US

April 5 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together.
If you’re launching a new Group, trust and friendship take time to build. Take turns each week having someone share a bit of their story.

Read Together:

Take turns reading the following Scriptures:From the beginning, Jesus has always been—He is not created, but the eternal Son of God through whom all things were made. And yet, this same Jesus stepped into creation, took on flesh, and moved toward us in love. The message of Easter is not just that God loves in theory, but that He proved it in history—God really loves us, and He demonstrated that love most clearly through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This love is not based on our performance or worthiness, but on who God is—initiating, pursuing, and making a way for us to be brought near to Him.

The One Question:
If you only have time for one question, ask this one.

Where do you struggle to truly believe that God really loves you—and how is that shaping the way you live?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your Group or for personal reflection.

  1. Across these passages, what stands out to you about who Jesus is? How does seeing Him as both Creator and Savior shape your understanding of God’s love?
  2. Romans 5:8 says God demonstrated His love while we were still sinners. Why is it significant that God didn’t wait for us to change before loving us?
  3. What are some common ways people misunderstand or minimize God’s love?
  4. Where do you find it hardest to believe that God really loves you? Which of these Scriptures speaks most directly to that place?
  5. Review 1 John 4:16. What do you think it practically looks like to “remain” in God’s love?

Pray Together:

  • Thank God for His love that meets you at your worst.
  • Confess any ways you’ve tried to earn His love or doubted that it’s truly for you.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you believe and experience God’s love more deeply.
  • Pray for freedom from shame, fear, or striving that keeps you from resting in Him and His love.
  • Ask God to help you live confidently as someone who is fully loved and reconciled.

Next Steps:

  • Each day this week, pause and reflect on this truth: “God really loves me—not because of what I’ve done, but because of who He is.”
  •  Spend 5–10 minutes in Scripture or worship focused specifically on God’s love.
  • Share with someone in your Group one area where it’s hard for you to believe God loves you—invite prayer and accountability.
  • Look for one opportunity this week to reflect God’s love to someone else in a tangible, intentional way.
