Hey there.

HOW TO BECOME UNCANCELABLE

JULY 20 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DG, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DG share their story.

Read Together: PSALM 27 CSB

This Psalm of David is a song of lament—and confidence. Even while facing enemies, opposition, and isolation, David remains grounded in trust: God is his light, his salvation, and his stronghold. His deepest desire is not escape, but to be in God’s presence. Psalm 27 gives us a framework for how to remain spiritually unshaken, even when life tries to “cancel” us.

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or Discipleship Group.

Where do you need to remember that God is your light, your salvation, and your stronghold?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DG or for personal study.

  1. Confidence in God’s Goodness
David begins by declaring that God is his light and salvation. Where in your life are you struggling to trust in God’s goodness right now?
  2. Honesty About Opposition
David doesn’t sugarcoat the threats he faces—but he also doesn’t live in fear. What would it look like for you to acknowledge real challenges in your life while staying grounded in God’s truth?
  3. Longing for God’s Presence
If you could ask God for one thing right now, what would it be? What does David’s desire to dwell in God’s presence stir in you?
  4. Patience in God’s Timing
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous.” Where do you need to wait on God?

Pray Together:

Take time to pray with and for each other.

Suggested Prayer Prompts:
  • Thank God for being your light, salvation, and stronghold.
  • Confess any places where fear of people or circumstances has overtaken your trust in God.
  • Ask for the strength to wait on God with courage and hope.
  • Pray for deeper desire and joy in God's presence this week.

Next Steps:

Choose one way to practice confident trust in God this week:
  • Read Psalm 27 aloud each morning as a reminder of who God is.
  • Write out your own short prayer of confidence in God.
  • Identify one fear you’re carrying—and share it with a friend, asking them to pray with you.
  • Take 5 minutes of silence each day to seek God’s face without distractions.
