Hey there.

MADE FOR THIS MOMENT

AUGUST 31 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DG, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DG share their story.

Read Together: Acts 2:37–41 CSB

At Pentecost, Peter—the disciple who once denied Jesus—stood boldly and preached the gospel. His words cut to the heart, calling people to repent, be baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit. On that day, 3,000 people were added to the church. Peter’s story reminds us that God can redeem our mistakes, empower us through His Spirit, and give us a mission that matters. Ordinary moments—and even moments of failure—can become extraordinary when surrendered to Jesus.

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or Discipleship Group.

Think back to a moment where you felt completely unprepared or even disqualified, but God still used you. How did that experience shape your faith?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DG or for personal study.

  1. Miracles
    • Peter witnessed Jesus’ miracles firsthand. How has God’s work in your life strengthened your faith or reminded you of His power?
  2. Mistakes
    • Peter denied Jesus three times (Matthew 26:69–75). What’s a mistake or failure that you’ve struggled to move past? How does Peter’s story encourage you about God’s grace?
  3. Mission
    • In John 21, Jesus reinstates Peter with the call: “Feed my sheep.” Where might Jesus be asking you to step into His mission of caring for and leading others?
  4. Moments
    • Acts 2 shows Peter finally stepping into his moment of boldness. What opportunities might God be placing in front of you right now to share Christ or live boldly for Him?

Pray Together:

  • Thank God that He can redeem mistakes and use them for His glory.
  • Pray for courage to step into the mission He has given you.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to fill and empower you for the “moments” ahead.
  • Pray for one another to see where God is opening doors and to walk through them boldly.
