Hey there.

Altar Of The Region

February 1 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together.
If you’re launching a new Group, trust and friendship take time to build. Take turns each week having someone share a bit of their story.
Jesus reveals God’s heart for the region through both His prayers and His compassion. He prays for a united Church—one that reflects God’s love so clearly that the world believes. And when He looks at the crowds, He sees people who are lost, weary, and without spiritual leadership—sheep without a shepherd.
The altar of the region is not built through human effort alone, but when God’s people align their hearts with His. As we love the Church and live with compassion for those outside it, God’s kingdom rule and reign begin to take root in our cities and neighborhoods.

The One Question:
If you only have time for one question, ask this one.

What stands out to you most about God’s heart for our region, and why?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your Group or for personal reflection.

  1. Jesus prayed for unity among believers so that the world would believe (John 17). Why do you think unity in the Church matters so much to God?
  2. How have your experiences—positive or negative—with churches or Christians shaped how you view the broader Church today?
  3. When Jesus looked at the crowds, He felt compassion because they were “sheep without a shepherd.” Who are people in your life or community who might be spiritually lost or searching that God is inviting you to have His heart for?
  4. What fears, distractions, or assumptions tend to keep you from living with a heart for those outside the Church?
  5. In this week's sermon, Pastor Sean talked about the idea of each of us reaching 10 people over 10 years, the exponential impact we could have in our region together. It's simple, but intentional. How does this perspective change the way you think about your role in reaching the region?
  6. How did you God meet you through the 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting and / or through the 24 Hour Prayer Event?

Pray Together:

  • Thank God that this region belongs to Him and that He is already at work. Thank Him for His heart for our region.
  • Ask God to deepen your love for His Church—locally and globally.
  • Pray for eyes to see people the way Jesus sees them, with compassion and hope.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to send and empower workers to bring the hope of the Gospel to those who are far from God.

Next Steps:

  • Begin praying regularly for Bright City and other churches in Snohomish County to flourish and remain unified in the Gospel.
  • Write down 2–3 names of people in your life who are far from Jesus and commit to praying for them this month.
  • Look for one intentional opportunity this week to listen, serve, or show Christ’s love to someone outside the Church.
