REmembering changes everything
JULY 26 | Discipleship Guide
Be Real Together:
Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together.
If you’re launching a new Group, trust and friendship take time to build. Take turns each week having someone share a bit of their story.

Read Together: PSALM 103:1-12 CSB
Psalm 103 is David's invitation to intentionally remember the goodness of God. He speaks to his own soul, calling himself to praise the Lord and to "not forget all His benefits." As David reflects on God's forgiveness, redemption, compassion, faithfulness, and steadfast love, he reminds us that remembering God's work strengthens our faith, fuels our worship, and helps us remain steadfast through every season. When we remember who God is and what He has done, we are moved to praise Him with our whole lives.
The One Question:
If you only have time for one question, ask this one.
What is one specific way you've seen God's faithfulness in your life that you don't want to forget?
Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your Group or for personal reflection.
- What stands out to you most in this passage?
- David begins by speaking to his own soul: "Bless the Lord... and do not forget all His benefits." Why do you think remembering requires intentionality? Why do you think remembering is such a central part of following God?
- The sermon encouraged us to distinguish between God's responsibilities and our responsibilities. What stands out to you from this passage of Scripture when it comes to God's responsibilities versus ours?
- The sermon highlighted two responsibilities we have from this passage: praise the Lord and remember His benefits. How do those two actions strengthen one another?
- As you read verses 3–7, which of God's "benefits" stands out to you most right now? Why?
- Revelation 12:11 says God's people overcome "by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." How does sharing your testimony strengthen both your own faith and the faith of others?
- If someone asked you today, "What has the Lord done for you?" what story or testimony would you share?
Pray Together:
- Thank God for His forgiveness, compassion, faithfulness, and steadfast love.
- Spend time remembering specific ways God has worked in your life and thank Him for each one.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to guard your heart from forgetting God's goodness during difficult seasons.
- Pray for courage to share your testimony with others and point them to Jesus.
- Ask God to help your Group become a community that regularly remembers and celebrates His faithfulness together.
Next Steps:
- Write your testimony: Spend time this week writing down your story of how God has worked in your life. It doesn't have to be long.
- Share your story: Tell one friend, family member, or group member about a specific way God has been faithful to you.
- Start a remembrance journal: Each day, write down one way you've seen God's goodness, provision, or faithfulness.
- Read Psalm 103 each morning: Let these words shape your heart toward praise before your day begins.
- Practice gratitude: Before bed each night, thank God for three specific blessings from that day.
- Create a memorial: Choose a tangible reminder—a note, photo, verse card—that helps you remember a significant way God has worked in your life.
