Read Together: PSalm 100 CSB

Psalm 100 is more than a call to sing—it is an invitation to know God. Pastor Sean compared it to standing in downtown Lake Tahoe versus climbing the mountainside for the full view. It's possible to know about God and still miss who He really is. But when we truly know Him, we begin to see His goodness, faithfulness, and love more clearly, and gratitude naturally becomes our response. Everyone is invited to experience the joy of knowing and worshipping the Lord.

How would you describe your relationship with God right now—is it mostly about knowing about Him, or truly knowing Him?

Use these questions to go deeper with your Group or for personal reflection.

  1. What stands out to you most in this passage?
  2. Psalm 100 is an invitation to know God. Read verse 1 again. Who is the invitation for?
  3. Verse 2 says, "Serve the Lord with gladness." Has this been your posture? Is there someone you've observed serving the Lord with gladness that has inspired you?
  4. Verse 3 says, "Acknowledge that the Lord is God." Pastor Sean explained that "acknowledge" means to know, recognize, or become aware. When did your faith become more than simply knowing about God? What does it look like in your own life for you to "acknowledge that the Lord is God"?
  5. Verse 4 reminds us, as Pastor Sean said that, "Jesus didn’t just pay the debt we deserve for our sin, He closed the gap in our relationship with our heavenly Father." He gives us full access to Himself, He invites us to approach Him. How does that sit with you today?
  6. Reflecting on verse 5, look back on this past season - where have you experienced God's goodness in a way that you don't want to forget?
  7. As you leave today, what's one way you sense God inviting you to know Him more deeply and respond with greater gratitude this week?

Pray Together:

  • Thank God for inviting you into a relationship with Him.
  • Praise Him for His goodness, faithful love, and faithfulness through every generation.
  • Thank Jesus for making a way for us to come confidently into the Father's presence.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know God more personally—not just know more information about Him.
  • Pray that your worship would flow from gratitude as you grow in your relationship with the Lord.

Next Steps:

  • Spend time with God, not just studying Him. Set aside 10–15 minutes each day this week simply to be with God through silence and solitude.
  • Read Psalm 100 every morning this week. Ask God to help you see His goodness with fresh eyes.
  • Practice gratitude. Each day, write down one way you've experienced God's goodness or faithfulness.
  • Respond with worship. Before asking God for anything in prayer, spend a few minutes praising Him for who He is.
  • Invite someone else. Just as God has invited you, invite a friend, coworker, or neighbor to experience Him.
