January 12 - February 1

Welcome to our first ever 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting initiative as a church. Infuse the next 3-weeks with focused prayer, and consider abstaining from some area of life in order to foster a greater dependence on God. We'll conclude the season with a 24-hour prayer event at Bright City January 30-31! It’s time to set things right and invite the Lord to reign in every sphere of our lives. Let's dig in this month and see what God will do in and through us!

Fasting guide

Why fast? [insert biblical answer]

The key is that whenever you're tempted to break the fast, you pray! You focus your attention on the Lord. Use our prayer guide below for ways to pray each day.
 
Types of Fasts:
  • Complete Fast - No food, only water
  • Liquid Fast - No food; water & juices only
  • Daniel Fast - No meats, sweets, dairy; only fruits, nuts, veggies, & water
  • Partial Fast - From sunrise to sundown; one meal per day
  • Non-Food Fast* - Abstaining from TV, social media, caffeine, alcohol, etc
*Recommended for pregnant/nursing women, people on medication, those who've struggled with an eating disorder.

Have kids? Some great fasting options for children would be to give up sweets or screentime. Invite them to particpate with you! Let's disciple our kids to abide in Jesus as we are abiding in Jesus.
