Hey there.

EVERYTHING BELONGS TO HIM

AUGUST 3 | Discipleship Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DG, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DG share their story.

Read Together: PSALM 24 CSB

Psalm 24 declares the greatness of God as Creator, Ruler, and King. He owns the earth, every place, and every person in it. Only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand in His presence—but this righteousness is a gift from Him. The psalm closes with a call to open our lives fully to the King of glory, letting Him reign over every part of who we are.

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or Discipleship Group.

Where in your life is God asking to reign?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DG or for personal study.

  1. God Rules Over All Things (vs. 1–2)
    • How does knowing that God owns both creation and every person change how you view what you “possess”?
    • Is there something in your life you tend to think of as yours instead of His?
  2. God Receives the Righteous (vs. 3–6)
    • Psalm 24 describes clean hands, a pure heart, and truthful speech. In what ways can these qualities grow in your life through Jesus’ righteousness?
    • How does 2 Corinthians 5:21 shape your confidence to stand before God?
  3. God Reigns in the Hearts of the Righteous (vs. 7–10)
    • What would it look like to truly “lift up your head” and welcome the King of glory into every area of your life?
    • Where do you sense God knocking right now, asking for your trust and surrender?

Pray Together:

Take time to pray with and for each other.

Suggested Prayer Prompts:
  • Thank God for creating and owning all things—including your life.
  • Praise Him for making you righteous through Jesus.
  • Ask Him to show you areas where you’ve held back control.
  • Invite the King of glory to reign fully in your heart.

Next Steps:

  • Write down one area of your life you’ve been holding tightly and pray daily, offering it back to God.
  • Read Psalm 24 each morning this week as a reminder that “the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.”
  • Practice generosity this week as a tangible way to acknowledge that everything you have is God’s.
